Chatting on Skype without adding contacts, is it possible?
Michele Barbi
Hello there,
I think the question is all in subject, on behalf of a friend of mine. Is there a way to chat on Skype without adding the contact on your list? Bye! Barbuz

If I get a contact request, I simply reply if I want information on that person. You can add the contact later if you wish. Jerry.

As far as I know, As of the latest privacy changes, two person should Exchange contact details in order to send / receive messages from each other. If you try to send a message to someone who's not in your contact; 1. In your desktop computer the messaging edit area is unreachable so first you should send a contact request. The edit area becomes active as soon as the person accepts your request. 2. In your mobile, if you send a message to someone who's not in your contact, the contact request is automatically being sent and the person should accept your request to see what message you have sent. Exactly, I can say that it's nothing to do with your friend's computer or phone. This is how it is. I think this change is also really odd for commercials handling chats with Skype accounts, because you could chat with them right from the find a contact screen by finding them, now you have to wait for them to accept your request. Also bad for commercial Skype account holders because they have to accept everyone even for a simple question. Regards! Salih

I agree. In my job we exchange contact card in skype when I have to sub. I'm already aware of this, however I don't like this idea as well. I'm beginning to get a bit worried that skype are going down the tubes. I agree with where they are coming from, however this could in my humble opinion ben handled better.

Many things in the past, such as Skype me! Were taken down because of misbehaviour and abusement. So this change was made for the same reason in my opinion. Many automated Skype accounts were sending links containing viruses or inapropriate visuals. Now the user have more control of who can contact. But as I said, very unfortunate for commercial accounts. My webhosting company provides live chat service through their website and Skype. So if a user wants some help and chooses Skype as a live chat method, they should first add them to their contact and wait for a reply start a live chat session. That is amusing. Regards! Salih
