as there is no Skype 7 anymore, let me give you some advice. You Skype 8. You will love it. All you need to do is memorize and use your web reading keystrokes that you use with your screen reader. The advice to use Skype 8 is reasonable because we don't really have a choice. It is also reasonable to refer to Skype 8 as usable, which I can say having used it exclusively for close to a year by now. But I don't use it like a website; I use it like an application. I disable the virtual cursor in JAWS, and I don't use Browse mode in NVDA, except on extremely rare occasions. If our initial poster actually asked how to use a screen reader with a web interface, I missed it. funny, I tend to use Skype 8 as if it were a web page. That's the easiest way for me to get around. After all, that's all it is, a glorified web page both on Windows and Mac.

I agree with both Sarah and Doug here. I have a way better experience with Skype 8 and NVDA than JAWS 2019. I pissed some people off on a JAWS FB group cause a person on their was complaining about V 7.x. I went far as doing a quick and raw post on Paraiscope using both JAWS 2019 and NVDA with Skype 8. I’m just tired of all the bull crap on here and elsewhere. V 7.x is dead so lets move on and use Skype 8.

Inamuddin: I'm using Skype 8.44.0.40 on W-10 with JAWS 2019 with the latest scripts. All seems to be quite well, save figuring out some aspects of the chats when it comes to replying to messages.
