Skype 7 to 8 upgrades underway apparently
I am hearing today that some people are being spontaneously upgraded from Skype 7 (Classic) to Skype 8 (Electron). I believe this is on Windows, but it would not surprise me if MacOS is also included.

The more important number is the full Skype version number; but since I see no obvious cause for this situation, I'm trying to be as specific as I can about where it occurs. :-)

Adding contacts and receiving requests in Skype 8
I haven't tried to add a contact from within a conference. As for incoming contact request notifications though: They show up simply as chat lines, and raise the new contact to the top of the Conversa

Minor correction regarding FS Skype 8 scripts
Yesterday I remarked that Freedom Scientific's built-in scripts for Skype 8 do not disable the virtual PC cursor. I was wrong, and my coworker and friend Roy caught the error; thanks for this. :-) In

I can't answer that question with authority because I haven't asked anyone for details. My guess, though, is that some people prefer a virtual cursor initially because everything can be seen that way

My scripts do, in fact, turn off the virtual PC cursor by default; you can turn it back on as you wish. Not everyone prefers this approach for Electron apps, I find; and the stock FS scripts for Skype

Aha! This I can work with - it means the mrw script is compiled with a JAWS version that produced a jsb that you can't use. That probably means that the mrw scripts don't work below JAWS 16 after all,

Not sure what you're referring to there. My scripts, for all three Skypes, have never had a restriction as to whether you run them on a 32-bit or a 64-bit machine. Scripts in general don't. Many years
