Answering calls- 7 vs 8 vs WUP
Cher
I am still using 7 because I’m concerned about the changes in the new versions. I love the way calls come in with 7 because I don’t have to fumble around to find the answer command in a panic. Do 8 and WUP still have this ability? I use the program only about once every month or so- so enjoy not having to remember new commands. Thanks. Cher

Re: A suggestion for the SkypeEnglish message footer
I know that the email no longer exists. That is an old footer from about 15 years ago, well some of it anyway. The forums are inaccessible, so now there really is no way to contact Skype for any form of support. Except for their website and they never responds to feedback anyways. Good luck.

A suggestion for the SkypeEnglish message footer
Doug Lee
I would send this privately to the moderator, but I confess I don't have her email address handy...
The footer includes this line: Thanks for subscribing to the skype english list. If you would like to contact skype support, visit their forums at skypeenglish.comThat address, skypeenglish.com, seems not to exist. It should probably be skype.com or something more specific for forums if we know an address like that. Btw, I am glad the footer points to www.dlee.org/skype/ rather than something more specific, because that lets us easily adapt to Skype changes, like new and expiring versions and such, without further footer updates. -- Doug Lee dgl@dlee.org http://www.dlee.org Level Access doug.lee@LevelAccess.com http://www.LevelAccess.com "Is your cucumber bitter? So they've advanced the version number and taken away a capability. Lovely.

Re: Proposal a translation of scripts for Skype Electron
Doug Lee
So far I've let translators manage their own distribution of scripts. I know this is not the way NVDA add-ons and official Freedom Scientific scripts work. Years ago I tried to host translated versions, but I got some script

translations that I found out were, shall we say, far less than precise; meaning, the translated versions said things I would not have wanted to say myself. :-) So I never made the effort to streamline the management of translations. My scripts for Skype Classic, for example, are English on my site; and translators distribute their translations themselves. I don't actually know where the translated versions are for those, but I know they are maintained because sometimes I get questions from translators.

Re: Adding to conference, bad news...
If you are talking with someone, and if the third person is calling you, you need to answer that call, the first person goes on hold now press plus button and the first person’s contact will appear now you need to include that person who went to call on hold if He will accept then you three people can talk altogether! The problem is that the plus button doesn’t show to us because our screen readers do not read it! This should be fixed by Microsoft and I already told Skype Support about it! No difference. Whether I added a second participant via a contact or the dialpad, that button is no longer there.

Steve Matzura <number6@...>
I still can't do it on an incoming third party, but adding an outgoing third party to the call was cinchy. That's apparently what the "Add people" button is for.
However, I have a new problem. The third person I added was an outgoing telephone call. I used the dialpad button to dial the number, then I needed the dialpad again to authenticate with the application answering my call on the other end, but could not do so. I have the same number as a contact, so I tried getting the dialpad back that way, still with no luck. Am I missing something or is it no longer possible to use the dialpad once a call has been answered?

because it is inaccessible. besides, if there is a keystroke to completely quit Skype, you may as well use it. after all, if you want to increase productivity, you 'd do well to make things as simple as possible. why do in multiple keystrokes what you can achieve in one or two?

If you find that Control q doesn't work for any reason, try Alt f (to open the File menu), and then arrowing up until you find "Quit".
