funny, I tend to use Skype 8 as if it were a web page. That's the easiest way for me to get around. After all, that's all it is, a glorified web page both on Windows and Mac.

The advice to use Skype 8 is reasonable because we don't really have a choice. It is also reasonable to refer to Skype 8 as usable, which I can say having used it exclusively for close to a year by now. But I don't use it like a website; I use it like an application. I disable the virtual cursor in JAWS, and I don't use Browse mode in NVDA, except on extremely rare occasions. If our initial poster actually asked how to use a screen reader with a web interface, I missed it. Correct. Skype 7.4 will load for a few seconds, then, will sign you out. It doesn't work anymore.

I had been enforced to update my old Skype version 7.4. The version is Skype 8.37. Is this the one I have in my machine? I use Jaws19 and windows10 version 1809 with all the updates. I installed the Jaws scripts 71 or something like that. Is it ok? Or maybe there is a better script now? I’m sorry that I ask this question now, because I didn’t use this list, for a long time. Can I get some important shortcuts to use this new Skype 8 electron version? Especially, how to answer a call and how to start a new call, Etc?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello all, Blocking and removal of contacts in Skype 8 is done via the contact's profile window. To invoke it, open the chat/conversation window for a contact you want to block/remove and then press Control+P to bring up the contact's profile window. In there are the options for blocking and removal of the contact, as well as other useful things.
