Hey guys, I figured out it's working for me as well though I am using NVDA, so effectibvely no SkypeWatch needed at least in Windows 10.
I have to correct you Matthew, I think the latest is 8.43. Anyway you go to Skype preferences which you can open by typing ctrl+comma, then you open notifications button.
Bye!

Script download problem solved

Marius Swart

Hi all.  I am pleased to report that, after the latest update to AVG Antivirus, the problem I had experienced with trying to download the JAWS scripts for Skype seems to have been solved.

I have another issue now, and I believe other members of this list may have had the same problem.  When I open Skype and press Insert+Q to test if the scripts are loaded correctly, JAWS makes the following announcement:

Google Chrome settings, Skype.exe, S K Y P E.exe

I hear no revision number.  I’m running Windows 10 and JAWS 2018.  Any suggestions?

Marius

Just got windows 10

Jerry Pryde

Hi all.

I just got windows 10, and loaded the version of skype that comes with it; 8.43.

Some things are quite easy to find without the scripts.

I'm thinking it should be much more accessible with the scripts.

I found most of the buttons easily.  But, I'm thinking some other important features will be easier to find with the scripts.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

You all are really helpful that way.

Jerry.

I don't think that information is available even visually; but if I'm wrong, I would love someone to explain where it is shown.

Subject: [skypeenglish] a strange issue with skype electron scripts in jaws2018 #admin

Hi all, my name is Gaurav Sharma, and I'm from India.

Introduction aside, I'm facing a really, really weird issue with the skype electron scripts(all revisions, as far as I've tested)

I have JAWS version 2018 1712. the issue is, skype scripts always fail to load. I've tried initializing the scripts, as per the tips given on the scripts guide page, nothing. these scripts used to work fine in jaws 18.0. but now, after I launch skype, and I press insert+q, instead of revision number followed by script version, I get: Google Chrome settings. Skype.exe, S k y p e . e x e.

what can I do to resolve it? fun thing... after installation of these scripts, and restarting jaws, jaws said "reloaded" and right after that, google chrome scripts are loaded. any help would be appreciated, thanks.
