It’s a querk with skype that shows the status of contacts incorrectly.
I have this problem as well.
Contacts show as Away, or Online when they’re offline.
It’s a problem with the newer versions of Skype that’s never been corrected, at least since Skype 6.0

As I said, there was a blank log. I typed a character in to make sure jaws was actually reading more than just the title and it read my character.

Hi,
Oh now I found the problem. Windows 10 Defender marks these scripts as dangerous containing a troyan horse. I took the chance of temperarly disabling Defender so I could download the file. Agreed. I would say keep trying or use a different browser, or turn off your anti what ever until you get the file grabbed.

hi, I just grabbed skype 8.9.0.1 I think it is, but, I can't seem to get anywhere with it.
once I load it up, I have a blank window. after that, I work out a way to get the main window up with command+0 then when I go to interact with the web content area, it says web content is empty. what am I doing wrong?

The biggest mystery here is why you don't get a log. The person I mentioned before got, or at least seemed to get, an empty one once; but

subsequent attempts produced the expected log material. The most common causes of SkypeWatch and other script chain installation failures are 1. A modified default.jss copied from shared folder to user folder, usually by a user manually compiling default.jss. The solution to this case is to delete the user-folder copies of default.jss and default.jsb and then run the installer again. 2. An installed set of scripts, usually commercial, that comes without source and that installs a sourceless default.jsb. In current installers though, this case would cause my installer to tell you that this is probably what's happening... So my best guess is the first case; but since I can't know what you have in your default.jss, I can't tell you whether it's safe to delete. You could try renaming default.jss and default.jsb and running the installer, but I can't tell you what that will do without knowing exactly what you have.
