Re: Am Connected To Skype Now But Have Another Question

Hi Steven: I am trying to close the Skype window (I restarted the computer) yeah...that got it done! But there should be a way that (when I'm not wanting to be on Skype) I can close that window like I used to! But so far, I'm not understanding what I am supposed to do to make that happen!

hi tom

I've not seen the whole chat here but I'm assuming you are trying to
get your chats to open in separate windows.

if so, alt v for view, arrow down twice and then press the space bar.
jaws should then say compact view sidebar checked. you wil then chats
will open in separate windows.

Yes you are missing a lot of things.

1.

You need to change your view which should be split windows.

2.

You need to do the following settings.

Go to tool/option/general.

Here you need to check first checkbox and uncheck the second checkbox.

Now go to sound setting and makesure that all checkboxes are checked.

Then go to notification and makesure that all checkboxes are checked.

Then go to advance setting there you will find 3 advance settings.

Marrious was talking about the first one.

In the second advance you need to check the first checkbox which is about
your hotkeys so you can take your call and hangup your calls by pressing
alt+pageup and alt+page down respectively.

At the end you need to check accessibility.

Now save all the settings!

Hi Tom. If you're running Windows 7 and higher, do the following:

Go to Tools/Options/Advanced settings. Look for a check box labelled "Keep
Skype in the task bar while I'm signed in," and uncheck it, then save the
setting.

Hope this helps.

hi tom

you cannot closed Skype using alt f4.

1. press windows key and t
2. s for Skype
3. press the application key and then q for quit.

there's a couple of ways to accomplish the task but I find the one
above the quickest.

Subject: [skypeenglish] Am Connected To Skype Now But Have Another Question

Hello again list:  Thanks to all for responding to my earlier question concerning not being able to connect to Skype!  I now have the latest version, but I have another question; I cannot seem to get Skype to close!  I keep hitting alt-F4, but Skype keeps re-appearing!  Now I know that I haven’t used Skype in such a long time…but I thought I could at least keep it from appearing in the window until I wanted it to; now I cannot seem to close it, no matter what I do!  What am I missing here?

Thanks,

Tom Kaufman

In order to install, do the following thing.

1.

Run the setup the window will appear which is language just leave it and proceed to the next windows.

2.

In that you will find two checkboxes uncheck both of them and proceed to the next.

This will be final window which will install your program.

Now you need to install JAWS script for Skype the latest version is JAWS script version 622B revision 983 released on September 2.

In order to download it, please visit:

http://dlee.org/skype

keep pressing H until you will find revision 983.

Here press tab key two times and press enter key!

After downloading it, just run it and install it.

Finally you need to do some sort of Skype settings.

If you don’t know, just add me to your friend’s list and call me I will guide how to do it!

Installing the scripts should (keyword should) be as easy as running an exe file. What problems are you having installing the scripts.

Hello Tom,
I did not log into Skype today so I am not aware of some connection
issues, I'll try to test it myself or inform...
In the meantime, since you have Skype 7.0 you probably need to upgrade
it. The latest Skype version is 7.40, and the latest scripts version is
622b revision 983. Let me know if you want direct links for those.

More about my problem that I forgot to say: I’m running Jaws 18 and Windows 7.  Have just tried it again, but all it will tell me is “Skype can’t connect!”  It gives no reason why it can’t connect or no indication as to what to do!  The Skype version I apparently have is 7.0 if this helps anyone!

Thanks,

Tom Kaufman

I couldn't agree more not only does the quality suck, but you can't use an external mixer to play audio threw skype. Who knows if they will ever fix it.

Yep no problem. I'll still pissed the audio quality has vastly been degraded on SKype Classic also. I'm still waiting for your email Sarah.
