Skype script revision 226 released, with notable date handling changes during chat message navigation
Doug Lee
I have released revision 226 of the JAWS Skype scripts. Release notes at https://www.dlee.org/skype/#hist and
download link available in that document as usual. Besides making date announcement work in Skype 8.88, this revision revamps the method of handling dates during navigation among messages: You can read the current message's date with the key sequence [ D. When you arrow up or down across a date boundary, a short sound will play and the date will be announced after the message you reached. This redesign speeds navigation, avoids a stutter issue, prevents long dates from slowing announcement of messages, avoids "Leaving ..." announcements and confusion over which date is current, and still makes recognition of boundary crossings very efficient. -- Doug Lee dgl@... http://www.dlee.org "I honestly believe it is better to know nothing than to know what ain't so." - Josh Billings, 1818-1885 (in "Solemn Thoughts")
