Bizarre problem with a new install of Skype

I recently upgraded to Skype 7.5, and here is my experience.

I use Skype Talking, and although I cannot see my Facebook contacts in
Skype, Skype Talking still notifies me of any change in status. It is still
possible to use Skype to send messages to Facebook contacts, but a Skype
user can only respond to incoming chats. Thus, if you want to start a chat
with one of your Facebook contacts, you'll have to access the website and
send them a private message first.

I am really afraid that's the problem. Facebook made some changes in how
API works, or possibly doesn't let apps sign in to its api anymore.
So in short, the best way to see your Facebook contacts is to downgrade
to Skype 7.4 at least. Skype 7.4 however, does not let you set your
Skype moodtext as a Facebook status message from Skype Home.
